Sayulita & Punta Mita Surf Trip in Mexico | Surf Discovery

¡Hola, amigos! Looking for an unforgettable surf adventure? How about tropical Mexico?

Having spent months exploring Mexico’s Pacific coastline, we completely fell in love with Sayulita—a charming surf village nestled right on the ocean.

From cobblestone streets buzzing with live music and evening fiestas to fresh authentic tacos, tranquil hillside villas, and pelicans gliding over warm Pacific lineups, Sayulita is a surfer’s dream.
Add peeling lefts and rights, crystal-clear warm water, uncrowded breaks, and surf sessions from sunrise until your arms can’t paddle—and you have the perfect getaway.

Sounds like paradise? It truly is! Are you ready to join us?

Picture an authentic Mexican coastal pueblo: boutique surf hotels, cozy cafes, craft taco stands, warm ocean breezes, cacti, and golden sunsets over the Pacific…

With over 15 distinct surf spots in the surrounding area—ranging from gentle sandy beach breaks to rolling point breaks and peeling reef waves—there are perfect waves for every swell direction and skill level.

We operate with dedicated vehicles, top-quality surfboards, and two prime base locations: Sayulita, a vibrant haven for beginners and progressing surfers, and Punta de Mita, home to legendary longboard waves and host venue of the world-famous MexiLog Fest. You’ll be surfing the exact same peeling waves as the world’s top longboarders!

Who is this surf trip for?
• Beginners: Catch your very first green waves and master the fundamentals in safe, mellow surf zones.
• Intermediate Surfers: Dial in your wave reading, maneuvers, and bottom turns across varied point and reef breaks.
• Longboarders: Master classic styling, cross-stepping, and noseriding on endlessly peeling point breaks.

A TYPICAL DAY ON OUR MEXICO SURF CAMP:

Wake up to fresh Mexican coffee and a delicious breakfast at a local cafe. Check the ocean forecast and pick the best spot of the day with your coaches, wax up your boards, load the surf wagons, and head out with our photographer. All top surf spots are within a 20 to 40-minute scenic drive. We surf, return to town for a fresh lunch, and review high-resolution photo and video analysis to correct technique. Enjoy an afternoon siesta or head out for a golden-hour sunset session followed by beachfront tacos, fresh fruit smoothies, or craft beers with the crew. On lay days or flat swells, we explore jungle waterfalls, mountain lookouts, and historic colonial towns. ¡Sí, amigo—this is the surf road trip of a lifetime!
