We love teaching children to surf! Kids bring boundless energy, infectious positivity, and an open curiosity to absorb new skills.
Teaching kids requires specialized instructor skills, patience, and speaking their language. Our years of coaching experience allow us to connect with every young surfer. With us, it is completely safe and immensely fun!
SURF DISCOVERY welcomes children from age 7—an age when kids easily understand surf theory and safety concepts. Surfing is the ultimate youth activity: it channels energy into physical fitness, builds self-confidence, and teaches deep respect and love for the ocean.

For children aged 7 to 14, we conduct exclusively private 1-on-1 lessons. Why?
Children require individualized coaching, undivided attention, and complete safety supervision in the ocean. If multiple children of similar age and skill level arrive together, we can form small family groups (maximum 3 children per group) for safety and cost savings.
– Full Equipment Provided: Specially sized soft-top surfboards, kid-friendly rashguards, and wetsuits.
– Certified Coaches: All our instructors hold international ISA coaching credentials and certified ocean lifeguard/first-aid qualifications.
– Sports Medical Insurance: Full coverage is provided for all enrolled students, including kids.
For parents traveling with younger children under 7:
– Alternating Parent Lessons: Parents can schedule back-to-back lesson slots so one parent surfs while the other cares for the child—a proven routine for surf families.
